Audition for Missoula Play
An audition will be conducted for the Missoula Children’s Theatre’s (MCT) production of The Emporer’s New Clothes Monday, February 7, at 1:45 p.m. at St. Lawrence School in Milbank. The public performances will be Friday, February 11.
Students who audition on Monday should plan to stay for an entire two-hour period. Additionally, some cast members will be asked to stay for a rehearsal immediately after the audition. That initial practice will be from 4:15 to 6:15 p.m.
Local students from all grade levels will be cast in the roles of Emperor; ManyPenny and the Money Council; the Royal Scholars Roxy and Red; Kings, Queens; Gem and the Royal Jewelers; Boots and the Royal Cobblers; Lid and the Royal Hatters; Stitch and the Royal Tailors, and the Royal Silkworms.
All students in kindergarten through seniors in high school are encouraged to audition. No advance preparation is necessary, according to organizers.
Assistant directors will also be cast to aid in rehearsals throughout the week and take on essential backstage responsibilities.
The MCT touring productions are complete with costumes, scenery, props and makeup. MCT tour actors/directors will conduct rehearsals throughout the week.
The local production of the play will be presented on Friday, February 11, at the Milbank High School with shows at 1:15 p.m. and 7 p.m.
