Area Residents Can Enroll for CodeRED Notification System

A few months ago, City of Milbank and Grant County both began the process of bringing a new notification system to area residents. CodeRED, the new option, will eventually replace the Notify system currently used by the city.
While Notify is still in place, residents can begin registering with the new CodeRED system now by going to the website enrollment form at https://public.coderedweb.com/CNE/BFA422074595. Alternately they can text “Grant” to 99411 to receive a direct link to the enrollment form on their mobile devices.
“CodeRED is an emergency notification system in which the participant can control how they want to be notified of alerts – by phone call,
text, email or all three,” commented John Forman, city administrator. “We encourage residents to sign up for a ‘managed account’ as it allows residents to make changes to their selections by adding or subtracting numbers or addresses, and also selecting the types of notifications they receive.”
The CodeRED system can also notify the participants of weather hazards such as severe thunderstorms, flash floods, tornados and winter weather-related storms. The governmental agencies can also use the system for emergency announcements like evacuations or hazards situations in addition to general issues, such as snow alerts, water main breaks, closed streets and more.
“Soon, representatives of Onsolve, the company that is the owner of CodeRed, will be calling all residents in Milbank and Grant County encouraging them to sign up for CodeRED,” Forman said.
Those with questions should contact the Milbank City Office.
