Big Stone Branch Library Sets Activities, Author Event

Area residents can attend a variety of events at the Big Stone City Branch Library, part of the Grant County Public Library system, in the coming weeks.

Staff at the Big Stone library invite families to pick up the Thanksgiving storytime kits and complete them at home.

A Christmas craft option is available for adults on Wednesday, November 19, or Saturday, November 22. Adults can drop in during normal library hours on those days to make a Christmas craft. All the supplies will be provided, and there is no cost other than to bring in a non-perishable food item for the Grant County Food Pantry.

The public is invited to a Zoom visit by author JA Jance on Saturday, November 22, at 1 p.m. Jance will be live by Zoom at the Big Stone City Community Center. Jance, who lives in Washington state, no longer travels as she helps care for her husband with Parkinson’s. Her newest book, The Girl from Devils Lake, was released in October. It is the 21st of the Joanna Brady Mysteries series.

The author visit is a free event for adults sponsored by the Big Stone City Branch Library. One copy of this book will given away as a door prize to someone present that day.

Those who attend the author event are asked to donate one non-perishable food item for the local food pantry.

Questions should be emailed to bsclibrary12@hotmail.com or patrons can stop by during normal library hours, Wedesdays, noon to 6 p.m. and Saturdays 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The library is located at 400 Washington Street, in the Big Stone City Community Center. Patrons are asked to use the south library door.
