BIG STONE NATIONAL WILDLIFE REFUGE SEEKS CATTLE GRAZING INTEREST

Big Stone National Wildlife Refuge, Odessa, MN, is seeking interested cattle producers for cash rent grazing on two units of the Refuge starting approximately May 15, 2022. The purpose of this short term grazing program is to reduce smooth brome dominance on native habitats, aid in controlling invasive species, and stimulate native prairie vegetation. Individuals will be selected based on receipt of a sealed bid per unit. Under this arrangement producers will be offered to graze for a maximum of two years upon compliance of grazing contract.

Sealed bids are due at the Refuge office no later than 4:00 pm, March 4th, 2022. Due to the office remaining closed due to COVID policy, a box will be placed in front of the office for bid collection. Bids may also be mailed to the refuge office.
