Bloodmobile Donors Asked to Confirm Upcoming Appointments

Bloodmobile Donors Asked to
Confirm Upcoming Appointments

The American Red Cross bloodmobile will be in Milbank Tuesday, July 20, from noon to 6 p.m. at Unity Health and Fitness. There is a very critical shortage of blood at this time with some patients waiting two to three days for a transfusion.
Donors have been sent an email asking they confirm their appointment with the coordinator. Milbank has had an unacceptable rate of no shows in the past. There are no appointments available at this time. At this time there is a waiting list, and the Red Cross no longer allows walk ins.  Donors who do not confirm with Margaret Skoog by Sunday evening, July 19, will be removed

from the schedule and persons on the waiting list added.
Skoog can be contacted at 605-880-0435, by text, Messenger, or by email dxmskoog@itctel.com.
High school students needing volunteer hours will receive four hours for their donation.
Members of Living Word Lutheran Church are providing support to the blood drive this year.
The current coordinator is moving and a new coordinator is needed. “Please consider stepping up, even as a co-coordinator,” said Skoog. “This position has become much less time consuming with all the computer updates the Red Cross has implemented.”
