Catholic Schools Week

St. Lawrence Students, Staff
Mark Catholic Schools Week

The families whose children attend St. Lawrence School and the staff members will be celebrating Catholic Schools Week beginning on Saturday, January 29, and continuing through Friday, February 4. This year’s theme is SonWest Roundup.
Locally, the activities for Catholic Schools Week will kick off with the January 29 5 p.m. Mass during which time, the students will sit with their teachers. A meal will be served at 6 p.m. and 10 games of bingo will take center stage at 7 p.m.
Monday, January 31, will give the kids the chance to show their true colors by wearing all one color for “color splash Monday.” The lesson for that day is entitled Ultimate Plan and discuss the story of God sending Moses.
“Tropical Tuesday” will be the fun theme for February 1 and the lesson will be Ultimate Power, featuring how God helped Moses. Tuesday is also Soup Day. The parish and community members are invited to join the students for a bowl of soup between 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m.
The students will embrace “wacky Wednesday” on February 2 by dressing as wacky as they possibly can. The lesson for the day is entitled Ultimate Rescue. The teaching centers on the passover rescue when God rescued his people.
Ultimate Trust is the program for Thursday, February 3. The teaching will center on the perfect provision that God provided by feeding His people. Thursday is also “Western or rancher day”.
The week’s activities will conclude on Friday, February 4, with “spirit day.” Students will wear their themed shirt and khakis. The lesson is Ultimate Love and centers on the law of love and how God loves his people. There will be Mass at 8:30 a.m. The fifth grade band will perform in the gym at 9:45 a.m. Students will enjoy a movie and snacks from 12:20 to 2:10 p.m. Activities conclude with Catholic Schools Week songs and actions.
