Races have developed for vacancies on the Milbank City Council and Milbank School District Board of Education with a combined election slated for Tuesday, June 8. Polling places for the contests will be in the city offices at 1001 East 4th Avenue in Milbank.
In the city election, Michael Hanson and Renee Osborne are candidates in Ward Three for a four-year term. Residents of the ward can cast their ballot at the Milbank Visitor Center from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Hanson is the incumbent.
Mindy Rogers is the only candidate for the Ward Two vacancy on the city council. The term is for four years.
Three candidates are vying for two three-year terms on the Milbank Board of Education. They are Jennifer Anderson, Jon Christensen and Amy Thue. Voters can select two candidates on the ballot. The polling place is in the lobby of the Milbank City Office, Suite 301.
