NOTICE AND CALL FOR BIDS
RENOVATION OF THE
400,000-GALLON ELEVATED SPHERE WATER STORAGE TANK
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City of Milbank, South Dakota, will receive sealed bids for the renovation of its 400,000-gallon elevated sphere water storage tank. The work includes inspection and engineering services; surface preparation and exterior, interior dry-surface, and potable-water immersion coating systems; structural and appurtenance repairs; testing; installation of the City logo; and all labor, materials, equipment, supervision, permits, and incidentals necessary to complete the project.
The bids must be filed with the City of Milbank, 1001 E. 4th Ave., Suite 301, Milbank 57252, Local Time, September 10, 2026, by 1:30 p.m. All bids will be publicly opened and read aloud in the presence of the bidders and/or their representatives. No bids will be received after the specified hour and date.
BID DOCUMENTS. The Request for Bids, plans, specifications, and other contract documents may be examined and obtained from the City of Milbank at the address above. Questions and requests for bid documents may be directed to the City Administrator at 605-432-9575 or cityadministrator@ milbanksd.com. The documents will be available no later than the date of the first publication of this notice. Upon request, the City will furnish at least one copy without charge to each South Dakota resident contractor who intends, in good faith, to submit a bid.
SUBMITTAL. Submit one hard copy in one sealed package. Clearly mark the outside of the package “MILBANK WATER TOWER RENOVATION” and include the bidder’s name and address. Bidders are responsible for timely delivery.
BID SECURITY. Each bid must be accompanied by either (1) a certified check or cashier’s check equal to five percent (5%) of the bid, payable to the City of Milbank, or (2) a bid bond equal to ten percent (10%) of the bid, issued by a surety authorized to do business in South Dakota, as a guarantee that the bidder will enter into the contract if awarded. The successful bidder must furnish performance and payment security as required by South Dakota law and the contract documents.
The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids, in whole or in part; to waive technicalities, informalities, or irregularities; and to accept the responsive and responsible bid determined to be in the best interest of the City, consistent with applicable law.
