CITY OF MILBANK NOTICE AND CALL FOR BIDS UNITY HEALTH AND FITNESS CHILLER • December 2021

 

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City of Milbank, Grant County, South Dakota will receive sealed competitive bids for replacement of the existing Trane chiller at Unity Health & Fitness, 904 E 4th Ave, Milbank, SD.

Work shall consist of replacement of the existing Trane chiller with a new 60-ton High Efficiency Trane Chiller or equivalent. Conditions on the selection of the chiller are based off the existing chiller for air-conditioning the building. Evaporator leaving temperature of 44 degrees and 57 degree entering temperature. Low ambient down to 0 degrees, and 410a refrigerant.

The following items are to be included in the bid: reclamation of the R-22 refrigerant to be stored in reclaim drums and to become the property of the City of Milbank; removal and disposal of the existing chiller; setting of the new chiller including crane fees; new copper pipe outdoors to connect to the new chiller; new vibration eliminators; new butterfly isolation valves; new gauges, temperature sensors, and wells; flanges needed for butterfly valves and chiller evaporator connections; temperature and pressure gauges; wells and saddle clamps needed for sensors and pressure gauges; bracketing materials for piping; new insulation and PVC wrap to protect the insulation from weather as needed; control integration and bracket connection to the chiller; labor and freight.

Completion date of this installation shall be by June 3, 2022. 

Each bidder shall visit the site and shall completely inform himself relative to the conditions of compliance.  All conditions shall be properly investigated and considered in the preparation of the bid. There will be no subsequent financial adjustment for lack of prior information.

Bids will be received up to the hour of 10:00 AM on January 7, 2022 at the City Offices, 1001 East 4th Avenue, Milbank, SD 57252. Bids will be opened at that time. Considerations of the bids will take place at the City Council Meeting, 7:00 PM, January 10, 2022 at the City Office.

The successful low bidder as determined by the Milbank City Council, shall submit a Certificate of Insurance to the City Finance Officer assuring that the bidder has provided for, paid for, and maintaining in full force and effect the coverage at not less than that required to cover the bidder’s activities, or those activities of anyone either directly or indirectly employed by the Bidder or subcontractor or by anyone for whose acts they may be liable.

The City of Milbank reserves the right to reject any and all bids and waive irregularities as deemed to be in the best interest of Milbank, South Dakota.
