ORDINANCE #832

An ordinance to amend the Milbank Municipal Code regarding access by Milbank Fire Department.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL of the City of Milbank, Grant County, South Dakota, that Chapter 2 be amended to read as follows:

2.24.070 Key Boxes. The Milbank Fire Department will not carry keys for direct emergency access to buildings but will carry keys to Knox lock boxes approved for construction and location by the Fire Administrator, which will contain entry and secured area keys. When access to or within a structure or any area is unduly difficult because of secured openings or where immediate access is necessary for life saving or fire-fighting purposes, the Fire Administrator may require a Knox key box to be installed in an accessible location. The Knox key box shall be a type approved by the Fire Administrator and shall contain keys to gain necessary access as required by the Fire Administrator.
