Community Invited to Baseball Opener Event
Community members who attend the American Legion Post 9 season home opener will be treated to more than just baseball. Organizers have planned extra attractions to kick off the season including prize giveaways and free grilled cheese sandwiches provided by Valley Queen.
The Milbank American Legion team will host Sisseton for a doubleheader on Tuesday, June 3, at 6 p.m. at Legion Field at Lake Farley Park.
Organizers hope the added attractions will entice more community members to enjoy the games at the new field.
Boyd VanVooren, parks and recreation director at Unity Health and Fitness, also noted the newly finished features such as the team dugouts, fences, concession facilities and pavers.
This season, each home game will be sponsored by a local business with a giveaway drawing from that business during the game.
Ticket prices are $2 for adults with children 12 and under receiving free admission.
Stay tuned in for more information as new crowd-pleasers develop through the season.
