County 4-H Achievement Days Brings Shows, Games
This year’s Grant County Achievement Days features many well loved favorites at the Grant County 4-H Grounds from Friday, July 31, through Wednesday, August 5.
Local 4-H members will exhibit their projects in the Cat and Companion Animal Show on Friday, July 31, where judges will evaluate each entry. A bake sale will also be held from noon to 2 p.m. in the Grant County 4-H Complex on Friday.
A community free will donation pancake breakfast begins on Sunday, August 2, serving from 10 a.m. until noon in the 4-H Complex. The evening will delight spectators as they enjoy the rocket launch at 6:30 p.m.
The swine show starts at 9 a.m. on Monday, August 3, followed by the dairy goat show at 10 a.m. The dairy cattle show begins at noon, followed by the meat goat show at 4 p.m. The day will conclude with family fun games, beginning at 7 p.m. in the Grant County 4-H livestock arena. The public can join the Grant County 4-H Junior Leaders for a night of games, laughs, and fun.
The beef show begins on Tuesday, August 4, at 9 a.m., followed by the sheep show at 11:30 a.m. The rabbit and poultry showmanship competition begins at 1:30 p.m. The annual community free will donation barbecue will be served from 5:30 to 6:45 p.m., at the 4-H Complex. Indoor seating will be available, and pork will be served. Tuesday’s events will conclude at 7 p.m. with the Graduate Recognition Round Robin of Excellence.
The final installment of the Achievement Days events will be the judging of the poultry at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, August 5, and the rabbit show which begins at 1 p.m.
That evening, the livestock premium sale begins at 6:30 p.m. in the 4-H livestock barn.
