DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE AND NATURAL RESOURCES

RECOMMENDATION AND NOTICE OF HEARING TRANSFER OF LARGE AND SMALL SCALE MILE PERMITS DAKOTA STONE, INC.

Notice is hereby given that the South Dakota Department of Agriculture and Natural Resources has received applications to transfer Large Scale Mine Permits 15 and 318 and Small Scale Mine Permit 485 from Dakota Granite Company, 48391 150th Street, Milbank, South Dakota 57252-6047 to Dakota Stone, Inc., 48391 150th Street, Milbank, South Dakota 57252. The legal location of each permit is:

Permit 15 - Portions of SW1/4 Section 7 and Portions of W3/4 Section 18; T120N-R47W and Portions of NE1/4 Section 13; T120N-R48W, Grant County.

Permit 318 – Portions of NE1/4 Section 17; T120N-R47W, Grant County.

Permit 485 – Portions of SW1/4 Section 7; T120N-R47W and Portions of NE1/4 Section 13; T120N-R48W, Grant County.

The general location of the three permitted operations is approximately six miles east of Milbank, South Dakota. The primary mineral mined is granite.

In accordance with ARSD 74:29:04:04, the Department recommends approval of the permit transfers. In accordance with SDCL 45-6B-47, action on the transfers of the permits by the Board of Minerals and Environment will take place on December 16, 2021 at 10:30 AM CT at the Matthew Environmental Education and Training Center, 523 East Capitol Avenue, Pierre South Dakota. The Board’s action will be either to approve or disapprove the permit transfers.
