Local Residents Can
Dispose of Tires at
Roberts County Site
Through a northeast South Dakota waste tire reduction effort, the Roberts County landfill will accept tires for disposal at 25 percent of the regular fees. The program is good only in June and July this year.
The landfill is located at 12149 463rd Ave., Sisseton. It is open Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 8 to 11:30 a.m.
Tires from cars, pickups, payloaders, tractors and semis will be accepted. No tires with rims or other fillers will be accepted. The program excludes commercial haulers, tire dealers and trucking companies. Those disposing of tires will need to show proof of residency to get the reduced rates.
