Dr. Lucia Gonzalez Joins Medical Staff at Milbank
Dr. Lucia Gonzalez, MD, has joined the medical staff at Avera Milbank Clinic and Milbank Area Hospital Avera.
Dr. Gonzalez brings a strong commitment to providing compassionate, comprehensive care to patients of all ages, including pregnancy and obstetrical care, according to Natalie Gauer, administrator of Milbank Area Hospital Avera. As a bilingual provider, she is able to provide care for English, as well as Spanish and Portuguese-speaking patients.
Dr. Gonzalez completed her medical training at Saba University School of Medicine and her family medicine residency at University of Central Florida in Gainesville, FL. She then completed an OB fellowship with the Sioux Falls Family Medicine Residency, further strengthening her expertise in pregnancy and obstetrical care.
“We are very excited to have Dr. Gonzalez join our team,” Gauer said. “She brings a good combination of clinical experience and a passion for caring for patients. We are excited about the care she will provide and the relationships she will build with our patients and community.”
Dr. Gonzalez and her husband, Robson, have joined the Milbank community along with their two sons, Philip and Nico. Outside of medicine, she enjoys spending time outdoors and staying active with hobbies that include hiking and surfing along with reading, knitting, and family time.
“Robson and I are excited about the opportunity to be in Milbank. I am interested in rural health care, and look forward to forming ongoing relationships with the families and individuals we serve. Avera Milbank Clinic is a thriving medical practice, and Milbank Area Hospital Avera is an impressive community facility. I look forward to serving the residents of the Milbank area with their health care needs,” Dr. Gonzalez said.
