Ducks Unlimited to Sponsor Workshop on Conservation
A conservation program workshop will be conducted Wednesday, March 30, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Milbank Visitor Center, 1101 East Fourth Avenue, Milbank. A meal will be provided by Ducks Unlimited. There is no pre-registration required but those interested are asked to contact Jake Pettit, Farm Bill wildlife biologist with Pheasants Forever at 320-522-2268 or email at jpettit@pheasantsforever.org so a headcount can be determined.
Landowners and ag producers interested in how habitat and conservation can benefit their operation are encouraged to attend this program.
The workshop will cover the Conservation Reserve Program (CRP) updates, options for salt/saline affected land, Game, Fish and Parks updates, NRCS/FSA program updates, soil health practices, local Pheasants Forever project updates, and Conservation District updates. The event will feature speakers from Pheasants Forever, Ducks Unlimited, South Dakota Soil Health Coalition, South Dakota Game, Fish & Parks, NRCS, FSA, and the Grant County Conservation District.
Persons needing special accommodations (such as sign language interpreters, braille, large print, or other alternative formats) should contact Krecia Leddy, District Conservationist at 432-6570 ext. 3 or Krecia.Leddy@usda.gov in advance of the event.
