Present at the Ambulance District Board Meeting were: John Weyh, Joe Sousa, Jeremy Wiese, Jackson Schwandt, Barret Wicklund, Tracy Kurtz, Mike Mach and Hanna Greiner.
Schwandt discussed with the Board their Requirements and Responsibilities as the Board of Directors of the Ambulance District and provided applicable statutes.
Wicklund presented financial statements for Grant Roberts Ambulance Inc. and requested funds to help in continued operation and service to the area. It was requested the contribution to match the funds provided by Roberts County for the same service.
Nomination by Wiese, Weyh Second and unanimously approved - Sousa was elected as President. Weyh nominated, Sousa Seconded and unanimously approved - Wiese elected Vice President. Nominated by Weyh , Seconded by Wiese and unanimously approved - Greiner was elected Secretary Treasurer.
As required by statute it was determined the election rotation of the districts. District 2 and District 4 will be up for re-election in 2025 and every odd number year after. Districts 1, 3 and 5 will be up for re-election in 2026 and every even number year following.
Peggy Schuelke was appointed to be the Director from District 2.
Motion by Sousa, Second by Wiese and unanimously approved it was resolved to levy a tax in the amount of $126,500.00 from the district for 2023 payable in 2024. One thousand five hundred of that is estimated for administrative costs and expenses and the rest of the money collected will be contributed to Grant Roberts Ambulance Inc. in two payments, June and December, to continue operation of Ambulance services within the boundaries of the Grant County Ambulance District.
Motion by Wiese, Seconded by Greiner- unanimously approved that First Bank and Trust be designated as the financial institution to be utilized by the District.
Motion by Sousa, Seconded by Wiese- unanimously approved that Grant County Review be designated as the paper of record.
Motion by Wiese, Seconded by Greiner- unanimously approved that Jackson Schwandt be the attorney of record for the district.
The First Annual Meeting of the Grant County Ambulance District will be January 16, 2024 at 7:00 p.m. at the Milbank Fire Hall.
