Grant County Ambulance Meeting Minutes February 3, 2026
 
Present at meeting were Joe Sousa, Jeremy Wiese, Hanna Greiner, John Weyh, Peggy Schuelke, Tracy Kurtz, Steve Mogard, Joe Weber, Donald Weber, Bill Street, and Jackson Schwandt.
Re-election year for district 1, district 3, and district 5. Sousa (president) relinquished his chair to Wiese (vice president). District 1 is currently being held by Greiner. She was nominated to continue to hold the district 1 position, motion made by Sousa and seconded by Weyh. Motion passed unanimously. Sousa is the current holder of district 3. He was nominated to continue to hold the district 3 position, motion made by Weyh and seconded by Greiner. Motion passed unanimously. District 5 is currently held by Weyh. Weyh is unable to be nominated to this district because of his chair he holds with the city council, but with no other nominations he was appointed to district 5. Motion made by Sousa and seconded by Wiese. Motion passed unanimously.
Officer Elections: President is currently being held by Sousa. He will continue to hold the president position with a motion from Weyh and seconded by Wiese. Motion passed unanimously. Vice President is currently being held by Wiese. He will continue to hold that position with a motion by Greiner and seconded by Weyh. Motion passed unanimously. Secretary-Treasurer is currently being held by Greiner. Motion from Greiner for Peggy Schuelke to become Secretary-Treasurer with a second from Wiese. Motion passed unanimously.
Meeting minutes from February 4th, 2025 were accepted and approved with motion from Weyh that was seconded by Wiese. Motion passed unanimously.
Treasurers report was accepted and approved with a motion from Wiese and seconded by Weyh. Motion passed unanimously.
Kurtz took the floor to discuss ambulance expenses for the fiscal year. Tax levy for 2026 is going to remain the same at 126,500.00. Half of this will be paid in June, with the payment in December being determined by bringing the district account down to $500.00. Motion was made by Weise and seconded by Weyh. Passed unanimously.
Open meeting laws reviewed and discussed by the board with attorney Jackson Schwandt.
Next meeting for the district is set for February 2nd, 2027 at 7 p.m. Location will be the Milbank Fire Hall.
Motion to adjourn by Wiese and seconded by Weyh. Motion was passed unanimously.
