July 14, 2020

The Grant County Commission met for a special meeting at 4 PM with Commissioners Buttke, Mach, Street and Tostenson. Commissioner Stengel was absent. Chairman Mach called the meeting to order. Motion by Tostenson and seconded by Buttke to approve the agenda as presented. Motion carried 4-0.

Chairman Mach called for public comment. No members of the public were present.

The purpose of the meeting was for the Commissioners to study the salary schedule for the County and to begin a review of job descriptions. No action was taken on either item.

Volunteers: Motion by Tostenson and seconded by Buttke to approve Heidi and Natalie Meyer as volunteers to assist with grounds maintenance. Motion carried 4-0. As per SDPAA volunteers are to be referenced in the minutes.

Executive Session: Motion by Tostenson and seconded by Buttke to enter executive session at 5:15 PM for the purpose of a personnel(s) issue pursuant to SDCL 1-25-2 (1). Motion carried 4-0. Auditor Layher was present. Commissioner Street left the meeting at 5:50 PM. Chairman Mach declared the meeting open to the public at 6:05 PM. No action was taken because of the executive session.

It is the policy of Grant County, South Dakota, not to discriminate against the handicapped in employment or the provision of service.

The next scheduled meeting dates will be Tuesday, July 21, and August 4 and 18, 2020 at 8 AM. Motion by Buttke and seconded by Tostenson to adjourn the meeting. Motion carried 3-0. Meeting adjourned.
