Groceries Offered for Local Veterans
The Groceries for Veterans Program will give away 80 boxes of food, each one filled with $50 worth of staples, starting at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, January 13, at Berens Market.
To receive the free groceries, each veteran will need to show a valid Veterans Adminstration card, a South Dakota driver’s license with the word veteran listed on it, or their DD214. All area veterans or veterans’ widows are eligible to receive groceries.
The January 13 event will be the first of five giveaways scheduled for this year. The next giveaway will be Tuesday, February 24.
