Council Proceedings
The LaBolt Town Council met November 7, 2022 at the LaBolt Hall. Present were Jon Wold, Kenneth Wold, Larry Erp, John Wollenberg, and Jan Zuver
The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m.
The minutes from the last meeting were read and approved. Financial report was given and approved.
John reported that the picnic shelter at the dam is leaning, caused by the strong winds. It was discussed how to straighten it, will try to get it straightened before the next wind storm. The garbage pickup at the dam will need to be cancelled for the season. Larry mentioned that he cut the branches that were on the face of the dam.
The following bills were approved for payment from the general fund: North western Energy $10.00; Quick Books $75.00; SDML Workers Comp $475.00; Ottertail Power (LaBolt Dam) $56.55; Ottertail Power (Street Lights) $237.53; Ottertail Power (Fire Hall) $56.69; Ottertail Power (LaBolt Sign) $8.15; Brookings Deuel Rural Water $28.00; Sioux Valley Coop (streets) $67.96; Grant County Weed Board (mosquito fogging) $100.00; Quick Books $396.24; Emily’s Place (support trunk or treat) $100.00; USPS (stamps) $60.00.
There was discussion on the bills received from Jim Peiker for the work by Kranz. Discussion on the rezoning of lots was tabled till later.
Jon presented the tax call for 2023 at $25,000.00 to meet our budget for the year. Larry made a motion to accept it, and Kenny 2nd the motion. Motion passed.
The sewer budget was approved for the year 2023.
Jon explained that he had explored the value of the lots in town, will do some further research.
There was a discussion about having Elite blow out the sewer lines. It was decided that since the last date was November 2019 it would be ok to wait until November 2023.
Jon adjourned the meeting.
Next meeting will be Monday, December 5, 2022 at 7 p.m.
