Milbank City Council Proceedings – December 29, 2023

PURSUANT TO DUE CALL AND NOTICE THEREOF, a special meeting of the City Council was duly held at City Hall, December 29, 2023, at 7 a.m. The following members were present: Mayor Pat Raffety. Councilmen Roger Briggs, Craig Weinberg, Josh Karels, Mike Hanson and Mindy Rogers. Absent: John Weyh. Present from the staff: Ron Krause, Charles Schamber, Darin Thiele, Ryan Hilbrands, Dick Poppen, Jesse Morton, Jeff Loutsch, Jake Folk, Laurie Folk, Brandy Blauert, Corey Hooth, Carl Bostrom, Kenneth Henriksen, Ross Jurgens, Scott Ryhti, Dan Keyes, Caden Bjordahl, Keifer Lesnar, Steve Huizenga, Steve Pendergrass, Kevin Schuelke, Ryan Bakeberg and Gary Armstrong. Public present: Holli Seehafer. 

Mayor Raffety called the meeting to order and roll call was taken.

A motion was made and seconded to accept the 2022 audit, as completed by EideBailly LLP.  Motion carried 5-0.

A motion was made and seconded to approve the year-end bills list, as amended. Motion carried 5-0.

Claims List:

Climate Systems, Inc, system repairs, $1,537.48; Berg, Nicole, clothing allowance, $100.00; NRPA, directors’ school, $3,000.00; Pohlen, Cody, travel expense, $440.96; Morton, Jesse, clothing allowance, $48.30; Beyond Concrete, sidewalks, $11,795.03; Mead & Hunt, fee estimate, $5,000.00; First Line Apparatus,  pump testing, $745.00; Sandal Custom Fencing, HVAC fencing, $6,788.58; Adolph, Teresa, clothing allowance, $100.00; Conroy Electric, Inc., electrical work, $3,142.59; JC Repair LLC, engine repair, $14,468.93; Johnson Fitness & Wellness, matrix machine, $4,899.00.

$52,065.87.

A motion was made and seconded to approve the October 2023 treasurer's report. Motion carried 5-0.

The Mayor and Councilmembers thanked the staff for their hard work this past year.  

Adjourn –The next regular meeting will be January 8, 2024, at 7 p.m. A motion was made and seconded to adjourn at 7:10 a.m. Motion carried 5-0.­­
