PURSUANT TO DUE CALL AND NOTICE THEREOF, a special meeting of the City Council was duly held at City Hall, November 1, 2021 at 6:00 PM. The following members were present: Mayor Pat Raffety, Councilmen Scott Hoeke, Mindy Rogers, Roger Briggs, Mike Hanson, Steve Wiener and Josh Karels (arrived at 6:25 p.m.). Absent: None. Present from the staff: John Forman, Cynthia Schumacher, Brandy Blauert, Ron Krause and Dan Keyes. Present from the public: Steve Wenzl and Holli Seehafer.
Mayor Raffety called the meeting to order and roll call was taken.
Mayor Raffety stated the purpose of the meeting is to review a proposed bond. The bond would assist in the completion of several projects while taking advantage of current low interest rates. Three bond amounts and action item lists were proposed.
Several of the proposed projects have been discussed in previous budget discussions. Unfortunately, they have been cut and pushed back due to lack of funding. This bond would allow for the completion of many of those projects, including a fire truck replacement and three major street projects. Additionally, items on the list include trees and landscaping, a campground bath house and paving thru Lake Farley Park. Essential improvements at Unity Health & Fitness include a new air conditioning unit, master control system, fire protection system and elevator. An expansion and remodel at Unity Health & Fitness is also on the list. Funds for additional park playground equipment, new restrooms at Jack & Jill Park and a splash park were also included.
The Council took no action on the proposals.
Adjourn –The next regular meeting will be November 8, 2021, at 7:00 PM. A motion was made and seconded to adjourn. Motion carried 6-0.
