Milbank Fireworks Display POSTPONED

This from the Milbank Area Chamber of Commerce on July 2:
After careful consideration, because of the dryness of the area, the decision was made to postpone the fireworks display that was scheduled for Sunday, July 4, at Lake Farley Park.
Community Celebrates Holiday
with Free Fireworks Display
The public is invited to enjoy Milbank’s annual fireworks show on Sunday, July 4, at Lake Farley Park. The show will begin at dusk, approximately 10:15 p.m.
The event is free, and those attending are reminded to provide their own chairs or blankets for seating. The show is sponsored by the Milbank Area Chamber of Commerce, with a team from Pyrotechnics doing the setup and firing of the explosives. Approximately $10,000 of fireworks will be shot off to create a dramatic display.
“It should be a beautiful night for the community to get together and come out to celebrate Independence Day,” commented Laurie Folk, chamber director. She noted that there won’t be a broadcasting system set up at the park this year, so those wishing to listen to the music in the background should provide their own radios or remain in their cars and tune to 1510 AM or 95.1 FM.
Rather than having volunteers roam the park with donation buckets, members of the chamber executive board will be selling raffle tickets to help offset the costs of the fireworks. Tickets can be purchased at the chamber office during office hours or at the park Sunday evening.
