NOTICE OF DEADLINE FOR FILING

NOMINATING PETITIONS FOR THE

PRIMARY ELECTION AND FOR

FILING INDEPENDENT CANDIDATE PETITIONS

The deadline for filing nominating petitions for the primary election is March 29, 2022, at 5:00 p.m. central time. If a petition is mailed by registered mail by March 29, 2022, at 5:00 p.m. central time, it shall be considered filed.

The deadline for filing nominating petitions to run as an independent candidate in the general election is April 26, 2022, at 5:00 p.m. central time. If a petition is mailed by registered mail by April 26, 2022, at 5:00 p.m. central time, it is considered filed. For the offices of Grant County Commissioner District 1, 3 and 5, County Auditor, County Register of Deeds, County Sheriff, County Coroner (2-year term) nominating petitions must be filed in the office of the Grant County Auditor 210 E 5th Ave., Milbank, SD.

The nominating petitions for the offices of United States Senator, United States Representative, Governor/Lt. Governor, State Senate District 4, State Representative District 4, Attorney General, Secretary of State, State Auditor, State Treasurer, Commissioner of School and Public Lands, Public Utilities Commissioner must be filed in the Office of the Secretary of State, State Capitol Building, Pierre, SD 57501

Nominating petitions for the offices of Grant County Commissioner District 1, 3 and 5, County Auditor, County Sheriff, County Register of Deeds, County Coroner (2-year term), Delegates to the Republican Party, Precinct Committeeman and Precinct Committeewoman for the Republican Party shall be filed in the office of the Grant County Auditor during regular business hours.

Nominating petitions for the offices of United States Senator, United States Representative, Governor/Lt. Governor, State Senate District 4, State Representative District 4, Attorney General, Secretary of State, State Auditor, State Treasurer, Commissioner of School and Public Lands, Public Utilities Commissioner, 3rd Circuit Court Judge for the positions of A, B, C, D, E, & F must be filed in the Office of the Secretary of State, State Capitol Building, Pierre, SD 57501, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. central time.
