NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

ORDINANCE NO. 2024-01

AN ORDINANCE TO REPEAL AND REPLACE SECTION 1106 FLOOD PLAIN PREVENTION ORDINANCE ADOPTED BY ORDINANCE 2004-01, AS AMENDED, OF THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF GRANT COUNTY.

The Grant County Planning Commission and Grant County Board of Commissioners will hold a joint public hearing on January 16, 2024, at 10 a.m. at the Grant County Courthouse located at 210 E 5th Avenue, Milbank, SD. A public hearing is being held to take comments on a proposed amendment to Ordinance 2004-01, as amended.

In the event of inclement weather the joint public hearing will be held on Monday, January 22, 2024 at 4:00 p.m. at the same location identified above.

All interested persons are encouraged to attend the public hearing in person and comment on the proposed Ordinance 2024-01. After the public hearing, the Planning Commission will submit their recommendation, with or without amendment, to the Board of County Commissioners. The Board of County Commissioners will hold the first reading and schedule a second reading of Ordinance 2024-01.

The proposed Ordinance 2024-01 will be made available for public inspection at the Grant County Auditor’s Office located at 210 E 5th Avenue, Milbank, SD and on-line at http://association.1stdistrict.org/grant-county-board-of-adjustment/ pursuant to SDCL Section 11-2 and amendments thereto.

Written comments may be filed by mailing them to the Auditor at 210 E 5th Avenue, Milbank, SD 57252 on or before noon on January 12, 2024.
