Peaceful Pines Public Event will Feature State’s Attorney

As part of an effort to provide educational opportunities for area residents, officials with Peaceful Pines Senior Living are launching a Lunch and Learn series. The events will be free and open to the public.
The first Lunch and Learn will be centered on planning ahead to prepare for future needs as loved ones age. It will be on Thursday, April 30, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
The featured speaker will be Jackson Schwandt, Grant County state’s attorney. He will address topics related to powers of attorney and estate planning.
“There are certain conversations most families know they need to have but often put off,” explained Misty Weyh, sales director.
“Questions about planning for the future, making decisions for a loved one, or understanding what comes next can feel overwhelming or easy to delay. But when those conversations happen early, they often bring something people don’t expect – peace of mind,” Weyh said.
The Lunch and Learn event is designed to make the topics easier to approach. Schwandt is slated to share insight on power of attorney and estate planning in a way that is practical, clear, and easy to understand.
“This is not meant to feel like a legal lecture. It is a chance to sit down, enjoy a meal, ask questions, and walk away with a better understanding of how to plan ahead for yourself or someone you love,” Weyh said. “For many families, these decisions come quickly and without warning. Having a plan in place can ease that pressure and help everyone feel more confident moving forward.”
The event will be conducted at Peaceful Pines Senior Living at 410 E. 10th Ave., Milbank. A complimentary soup and sandwich lunch will be provided. RSVPs are requested, but not required, and can be done at https://www.facebook .com/share/1bWaeshEMb/ or by calling 605-924-2665. Walk-ins will be accomodated.
“Whether you’re beginning to think about the future or already navigating decisions for a loved one, this conversation offers a thoughtful place to start. Because sometimes, the question isn’t just when is it time, it’s how to feel ready when that time comes,” Weyh advised.
