Public Invited to Performances
St. Lawrence Spring Program

The students of St. Lawrence School will present the annual spring program in two performances on Wednesday, May 4. The public is invited to attend either the 1:30 or 5:30 p.m. performance in the school gym. The program will feature songs of prayer and praise.
Fifth grade students will perform Christ Be Our Light on tone chimes, followed by the sixth grade students chiming Shalom Chaverim.
Students in third grade will play Sanctus on their recorders, and fourth grade pupils will perform Amazing Grace.
Ukuleles will be the featured instrument when the sixth grade musicians perform along with their kindergarten buddies singing Companions on the Journey.
St. Lawrence preschool and kindergarten kids will sing Jesus Loves Me, You’re a Great Big God, and This Little Light of Mine.
According to Elizabeth Schulte, music instructor, the first and second grade performers will showcase the school’s handbells, playing the harmony to When I Survey the Wondrous Cross. Those pupils will join with the third grade children to perform songs from Catholic Schools Week, along with Disciples of the Son.
Rounding out the program, the students from the upper grades will sing two choral arrangements featuring two-part and three-part harmonies. The pieces are entitled Brighten My Soul and Non Nobis Domine. The Latin text means, “Not to us, O Lord, but to Your name give the glory.”
Sixth grade students will sing Hallelujah is Our Song, during which soloists will be Rylan Wendland, Andrew Karels, Raina Untalan, Addison Brown and Kara Fonder.
The theme in the music room is from Ephesians 5:19: Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord. The program will conclude with Allen Pote’s Festival Alleluia, echoing the music department’s theme with “… and with a cheerful voice sing Alleluia, sing it from your heart; make your life a song to God!”
