A hearing will be held by the Roberts County Planning and Zoning Commission in the Commissioners’ Room at the Roberts County Courthouse at 8:15 a.m. on Tuesday, May 19, 2026.
To consider a request for a VARIANCE from the zoning ordinance.
The request is made by Chris Bender.
For the purpose of: Mr. Bender wishes to build a 56 x 48 ft. Morton building on his Lake District back lot. The proposed structure would exceed the maximum dimensions for nonresidential structures on back lots (60 x 40 ft.) by 8 ft. in one dimension. The proposed structure would also not meet the minimum rear setback requirement of 50 ft. Mr. Bender wishes to place the proposed structure farther back in the parcel because the topography does not allow it to be placed 50 ft. or more from the parcel’s rear. Mr. Bender is seeking a rear setback of 30 ft. The proposed structure meets the front and side yard minimum setbacks.
