A hearing will be held by the Roberts County Planning and Zoning Commission in the Commissioners’ Room at the Roberts County Courthouse at 8:15 a.m. on Tuesday, May 19, 2026.
To consider a request for a VARIANCE from the zoning ordinance.
The request is made by Timothy (Scott) & Trudi Niedert.
For the purpose of: The Niederts wish to build a 30 x 30 ft. garage on their lake district back lot. The proposed structure would not meet the minimum setback requirement of 30 ft. from Palisade Avenue. Its placement is constrained by utilities and because the Niederts would prefer not to cut down mature oak trees, which would be required if they abided by the full front yard setback. The Niederts are seeking a setback of 20 ft. from Palisade Avenue. The structure is otherwise in compliance with the Zoning Ordinance in size and placement. Several other garages on nearby parcels are set back less than 30 ft. from the road.
