Public Welcome to Learn About Transmission Line
Otter Tail Power and Xcel Energy are offering two local open house events to answer questions and offer information in regard to a proposed transmission line.
Local open houses are both scheduled on Tuesday, January 13. The first event is from 10 a.m. to noon, at the Big Stone Community Center in Big Stone City. The second event will be between 4 and 6 p.m., at Speedway Grill and Event Center in Milbank.
The purpose of the open houses is to educate parties interested in learning more about growing energy needs in South Dakota.
The two companies are proposing a new transmission line that will serve customers in South Dakota and the Upper Midwest.
PowerOn in Midwest-South Dakota would be a 765 kilovolt transmission line that would ensure electric reliability, modernize the electric grid, and meet growing energy needs throughout the region.
