The students at St. Lawrence Catholic School will present a spring program on Wednesday, May 7, at 1:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. in the parish center. The public is invited to attend.

This year’s program theme is St. Lawrence School is Thankful. The program will open with three hymns of thanksgiving. Fifth grade students will perform Let all Things Now Living on tone chimes; third grade pupils will play Praise God from Whom All Blessings Flow on their recorders and fourth graders on recorders will play For the Beauty of the Earth.

The sixth grade participants will perform on ukuleles along with their kindergarten buddies singing The Thankfulness Song from the Madame Blueberry Veggie Tale show. Preschool and kindergarten students will sing We Thank You Loving Father, If I Were a Butterfly and Gracias.

First and second grade students will sing a song from Catholic Schools Week titled, Before All Time, followed by All God’s Children Give Thanks, Thank You, dedicated to parents and We Appreciate You, dedicated to school leadership and staff.

The third through six grade students will sing Thank You Teachers, Thank You Soldiers and What Can I Do but Thank You, thanking God. The students will also sing the Catholic Schools Week song, He’s Alive Again, celebrating Christ’s resurrection. The program will finish with the first through six grade participants singing, Give Thanks to the Lord.

The program is directed by Elizabeth Schulte, who stated, “One of my goals for this program is for every student, kindergarten through six grade, to do something special, whether it’s holding a sign, singing in a solo group or giving a speech that introduces one of our songs. I want all the students to know that I am thankful for each one of them. I also want our audience to feel valued, appreciated and uplifted by music. Most of all, on behalf of everyone at St. Lawrence, we hope to bring thanks and honor to God and celebrate His goodness to us all.”
