Summer Reading Program in Progress at Big Stone Library

The Big Stone City Branch Public Library is currently hosting its summer reading program with 25 children registered. The children received packets of activities for four weeks, plus a reading time sheet to keep track of how much they read.
On July 15, the children will stop by individually with their families and pick out prizes from a treasure chest for the work they have done from the packets. The top readers for the most reading time will receive a t-shirt and other fun prizes.
Parents return the reading time sheets as well as other finished activity sheets weekly in the library drop box.
The Big Stone City library has picnic tables set up outside on the west side of the building for those who want to look at newspapers, magazines or to enjoy reading books for themselves or to their children or grandchildren.
Patrons should make an appointment during normal library hours, Wednesdays 1 to 7 p.m. and Saturdays 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and pick out materials they would like to take out to the picnic tables. Items should be returned in the library drop box.
The Big Stone library is one of three branch libraries in Grant County all within the Grant County Library system and is located on the south side of the Big Stone City community center, 400 Washington Street. All library cards in Grant County work at each library.
