Teams Sought for Second Heroes Pull Fundraiser
After staging a successful heroes pull fundraising event last summer, organizers are asking the public to plan now and create teams to participate in the second annual event. All funds generated from the heroes pull will benefit the Milbank Special Olympics and South Dakota Special Olympics programs.
This year’s event will coordinate with the local National Night Out gathering on Sunday, August 17, in Flynn Park and on the Flynn Drive, the street between the Milbank Visitor Center and Mundwiler Funeral Home. The National Night Out events are at 1 p.m. and the pull will begin at 5 p.m.
The heroes pull teams need to be comprised of 10 people each, who will combine their efforts and pull a fire truck as far as possible. Each team is responsible for raising $800 to donate to the Special Olympics. Teams may be sponsored by businesses or be independent.
