Town of Marvin Council Proceedings

April17, 2023

Meeting called to order at 6:45 P.M.

Board Members Present: Rodney, Travis

Others Present: Tom Wagner, Tellus Waddell, Tammy Ammann, Pete Eccles, Matt O’Farrell, Bob Manderfeld, Roger Smith

Minutes of March meeting read; no additions or corrections. Motion to accept March minutes by Rodney, 2nd by Travis.

Old Business:

Discussion regarding obtaining a City Attorney; research to on-going.

Fire damaged buildings on Main Street: work to Thaden’s is on-going.

Discussion regarding Municipal codes and updated City regulations – on-going.

**Discussion regarding upcoming Board opening – please contact Travis if interested in this opening.

No other old business.

New Business:

Cemetery Board met prior to Town Meeting – agreement made to pay for half of the mowing expenses for 2021-2023.

Discussion regarding levies – Marvin in comparison with other Grant County towns is significantly higher.

Discussion regarding the water system and needed maintenance and potential issues that may arise when work is completed. Also discussed Grant Roberts Rural Water project that is currently on hold while additional funding is explored. Alternate options discussed for future water needs.

Discussion regarding dissolution of the town- discussion on-going with further research needed.

**City residents please remember to shut dumpster lids as leaving them open is attracting animals.

No other new business.

Bills: Ottertail: TBD; Grant Co Review: TBD; Chuck: $92.35; April: $323.22- Motion to pay bills by Rodney; 2nd by Travis.

Motion to adjourn by Travis, with 2nd by Rodney.
