Town of Marvin Council Proceedings

May 6, 2024

Meeting called to order at 7:30 p.m. Board Members Present: Matt, Travis and Rodney.

Others Present: Stacy Thaden, Bob Manderfeld

Minutes of April meeting read; no additions or corrections. Motion to accept April minutes by Travis, second by Rodney.

Old Business:

Discussion regarding city water and garbage bills – overdue accounts will be sent a certified letter on the seventh month of non-payment. On the eighth month of non-payment, names will be provided at the meeting and announced in the minutes. Overdue bill notices were sent to four customers in April – Ion S. & Brian W. remain outstanding as of the date of the meeting.

Motion made by Matt to have monthly cleaning of the hall with payment of $100/month – Hall was cleaned this month; on-going cleanings TBD due to issues with cleaning

No other old business.

New Business:

Discussion regarding odor in water – Chuck was in Marvin on 5/6 and reviewed current water levels. Travis will follow up regarding any changes or issues.

Request by Matt to investigate purchase of sand for park and addition of sandbox. No objections. Matt will gather pricing information for June meeting.

2023 Annual statement of accounts was presented to Board. Motion made by Matt with second by Travis to accept, print and report to state.

Bills: Otter Tail: TBD; Chuck: $92.35; April: $323.22; SD Dept of Health: $30.00

All others to be paid, then reported at June meeting- Motion to pay bills by Travis; second by Matt.

Motion to adjourn by Matt, with second by Travis. Next meeting: Monday June 3 at 7:30 p.m.
