Board Proceedings

 

The Town Board of Stockholm conducted its regular monthly meeting  Monday, January 3, 2022, at 7 p.m. with board members Lorraine Collins, Tim Nowick and Mark Anderson present. The minutes from the last meeting were read with a motion by Nowick seconded by Anderson to accept the minutes as read. 

Motion by Nowick seconded by Anderson to pay the following bills: General Account: Dept. of Natural Resources, $50.00, dues; ITC, $38.39; Stockholm Refrigeration, $119.00 for tractor work; Sioux Valley Coop, $619.70 for center propane; Jodi Nowick, $230.87; Whetstone Electric, $13.59; Grant County Review,  $10.18; Otter Tail,  $424.41; US Treasury, $459.00. Sewer Account: Otter Tail,  $72.67; Trapp Plumbing, $160.43; Denny’s Septic, $346.13.  

Mr. And Mrs Arlo Levison and Mark Severson were present, Arlo had some questions regarding the Buggy Museum, Ag Museum and Brown Earth Indian church. Also he would like the town to make changes to the current sign at the north end of town advertising current businesses. Mr. Levison also requested he be allowed to put up banners on street poles advertising the Buggy Museum.  Mark Anderson made a motion for this request and Tim Nowick seconded with Lorraine Collins also in agreement.  

Mr. Severson was there on behalf of the Stockholm Strandburg Legion looking for ideas/help on where supplies from them can be stored. 

A motion was made by Nowick seconded by Anderson to keep Grant County Review as the paper designated for all town publications. A motion was made by Nowick seconded by Anderson to keep all salaries the same for 2022. Board members are $60.00 a month and Finance Officer $250.00 and other town work $15.00 an hour or as needed.  

The next meeting will be Monday,  February 7, 2022, at 7 p.m.. With nothing further a motion to adjourn was made by Nowick seconded by Anderson.
