Volunteers Meeting Set for Special Olympics Track Meet

Milbank will host the Northeast Area Special Olympics Spring Track and Field games on Friday, May 1. A fleet of volunteers are needed to assist with the day’s events.

Those committed to or interested in volunteering should plan to attend an organizational meeting that will be on Thursday, April 23, at 5:30 p.m., in the Milbank High School lunchroom. All who are interested in helping with the event should attend.

On May 1, the event’s opening ceremonies will begin at 8:45 a.m. and the day will wrap up around 4 p.m.

Volunteers are needed to work as timers, ribbon writers, recorders, starters, and servers of food. Additionally, volunteers are needed to measure, retrieve shot put balls, guide athletes to where they need to go, and other tasks.
