Voter Registration Deadline for Primary is May 18
The South Dakota primary election will be Tuesday, June 2. To vote in the primary election, the state’s residents must be registered by the deadline of Saturday, May 18, in the county of their residence.
Registration can be accomplished during regular business hours at the county auditor’s office, municipal finance office, secretary of state’s office or locations which provide driver’s licenses, SNAP, TANF, WIC, military recruitment, and assistance to the disabled.
Failure to register will cause forfeiture of voting rights for this election. Those who are already registered can check their voter registration at vip.sdsos.gov/.
Grant County residents with questions can contact Kathy Folk, auditor, at 605-432-6711.
In Roberts County, contact Kristi Fritz, auditor, at 605-698-7336.
