The American Library Association (ALA) announced that Grant County Public Library in Milbank has been selected to participate in Libraries Lead with Digital Skills, an initiative of ALA and the Public Library Association (PLA), sponsored by Grow With Google, the tech company’s economic opportunity initiative.

The program, Libraries Lead with Digital Skills, was created so that local libraries can combine their own program offerings with Google training materials to offer community workshops aimed at assisting job seekers to prepare for and find work.

Grant County Public Library will host a workforce development workshop Tuesday, February 18, at 6:30 p.m. at the library. Colleen Gluth of Valley Queen Cheese Factory in Milbank will begin the session working with completing applications and/or resumes, having a successful interview and employability. Library staff will then introduce the Google Applied Digital Skills and Job Search along with other electronic resources available through the library. Follow-up sessions for the digital skills will be available February 25 and 27.
