Northern Lights Members Donate to 4-H Building Fund
MEMBERS OF THE NORTHERN LIGHTS 4-H club voted to donate $1 for every box of fruit sold by members during the Grant County 4-H fruit sales in 2020 to the new 4-H building fund. The group raised $179.

Donate to 4-H Building Fund
The Northern Lights 4-H club members met Saturday, August 8, at 2 p.m. at Peace Lutheran Church in Milbank. President Noah Steinlicht called the meeting to order with eleven members present. Owen Neeley led the Pledge of Allegiance and Cody Wiik led the 4-H pledge.
The roll call topic was mask or no mask. Casside Seezs read the secretary’s report. Tye Schaffer gave the treasurer’s report. Owen Neeley gave the reporter’s report.
Members discussed a contribution to the new building fund. Members voted to donate $1 for every box of fruit sold by members during the Grant County 4-H fruit sales to the 4-H building fund. Each family stated what they liked and didn’t like about 2020 Achievement Days. Members discussed having a meeting in September to help with record books. Members also talked about being able to purchase 4-H tumblers and t-shirts as presents to give as gifts.
South Dakota 4-H is utilizing the Statewide Family Engagement Center. The public can view on-line the many activities and areas to see.
The next meeting will be September 20 at 2 p.m. at Peace Lutheran Church. The roll call topic will be favorite activity during quarantine. The meeting was adjourned.
Noah Steinlicht gave a talk on his welding project. Casside Seezs gave a talk on her trip to Maine and the surrounding states for her outdoor/ recreation project. Owen Neeley gave a talk on TLC for his leadership project and Justus Gortmaker gave a demonstration on how to make paper mache buildings for a hobbies and collection display.
