Library Card Sign-Up Month
September is national Library Card Sign-up Month. The Grant County Public Library in Milbank is joining the American Library Association and libraries nationwide in promoting the power of a library card.
Throughout the month of September, the Grant County Public Library will be giving a candy bar treat as well as a registration slip for a prize drawing with each new card. The drawing will be Friday, October 1, with one prize given for the ages six to 13 division and another for those 14 and over.
Library cards are available for adults and children, over age six, providing their parent has an account in good standing. To be eligible for a free Grant County Public Library card a person must be a resident of Grant County, or have a Pioneerland library card, or pay property tax on property owned in Grant County. Individuals not meeting those criteria can simply pay a $10 per year non-resident fee and still enjoy the benefits of the library.
Through access to books, eBooks, online magazines, in house resources and educational programs, the Grant County Public library provides residents of Grant County the opportunities for both self-improvement and entertainment.
Grant County residents currently without a library card are encouraged to get a card during the month of September. Check out the library’s website or Facebook for the most current events happening at the Grant County Public Library.
