Town of Marvin Council Proceedings

October 11, 2021

Meeting called to order at 5:30 P.M.

Board Members Present: Travis, Nicole, Rodney

Others Present: 

Minutes of September meeting read; no corrections or additions. Motion to accept September minutes by Nicole, 2nd by Rodney. 

Old Business: 

Chuck discussed concerns of water loss within the town at March meeting – no updates at this time. Concern from Tom regarding chlorine levels in water; Chuck was going to assess – issue has been resolved. 

Discussion on town ordinances continued; Board Members and April will continue researching. Motion made by Nicole to purchase Municipal League guidance if no prior copies can be located; 2nd by Rodney.

April met with Adam Jones of Insurance Plus regarding renewal; liability coverage added for park and cemetery. There were no changes in premium for the additions. Discussion on worker’s compensation; Board does not wish to pursue at this time by Travis; 2nd by Nicole.

No other old business.

New Business:

Tax call for 2021 – Stay at $8158 or increase with 1.2% CPI to $8267.

Meeting minutes can no longer be posted at the Post Office but will be submitted to newspaper for publication.

Discussion on Sales Tax. Board will continue to research.

Request made for Board Members to forego pay going forward – Motion made by Nicole; 2nd by Rodney.

Concern presented by the county to have trees trimmed on the following properties prior to blading of the roads and winter snow removal:

Rude Street: Delton Rude

Dakota Street & Nathan Street: Chet Cordell

Division Street: Roy Nielsen, Tom Wagner, Craig Carley

No other new business.

Bills: Otter Tail: TBD; Kelly’s Kutters: $200.00; Hawkins, Inc: $956.28; Chuck: $92.35; April: $323.22  - Motion to pay bills by Nicole, with 2nd by Travis.

Motion to adjourn by Rodney, with 2nd by Nicole.

Next meeting: November 8th at 5:30 P.M.
