As part of the South Dakota Department of Health (SDDOH) push to get free at-home COVID tests to all of the state’s residents, the Grant County community health office and Grant County emergency management offices received shipments.
The 576 tests received by the community health office in the Grant County courthouse are available to residents at no cost. The 900 tests received by the emergency management office are for dispersal to members of the community fire departments, first responders, county employees and their families. Remaining tests will also be distributed to the public through the community health office.
Those who would like to arrange to pick up the free COVID tests are asked to call the community health office at 605-432-4596 or the emergency management office at 605-432-4637.
As of Friday, January 28, the SDDOH had shipped more than 400,000 of the free at-home COVID tests to agencies in counties across the state. It has a goal of distributing a total of one million tests.
