5:30 p.m.
The Big Stone City council met in regular session on Monday, March 7, 2022. Meeting began at 5:30 p.m. with Mayor Athey presiding. Roll Call: Roscoe, Stoddard, Redfield, Brown, Zahnow and Rabe. Others present: George Boos, Bryan Austin, Redgey Rademacher, Pat Kaiser, Nancy Lee, Kathy Rabe, Ryan Bakeberg, Teresa Goergen, Julie Enstad and Tom Detterman.
The Pledge of Allegiance and the South Dakota State Pledge were recited. Motion to accept the minutes from the February 7, meeting was made by Rabe and seconded by Zahnow. All in favor. Motion carried. 
Motion to pay the presented claims was made by Roscoe and seconded by Redfield. All in favor. Motion carried.

Sheriff Deputy Ryan Bakeberg gave the following report for February.  Hours worked within city: 96 hours. Responded to three welfare checks, transient assist, one traffic complaint and assist another agency.  
A motion was made by Roscoe and seconded by Rabe for the Medical Marijuana License in the City of Big Stone being a maximum of 6 Licenses. All in favor. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Stoddard and seconded by Zahnow the annual application fee for Medical Marijuana will be $500.00 and the licensing fee will be set at $1,000.00 annually. All in favor.  Motion carried. 
A brief discussion was held revolving around the Animal Ordinances. Roscoe, Rabe and Zahnow will be on a sub-committee and will bring recommendations back to City Council for review. No action was taken. 
A motion was made by Redfield and seconded by Rabe for the purchase of a Defibrillator.  City of Big Stone will purchase and Big Stone Community Center will reimburse city for the purchase. All in favor.  Motion carried.  
Discussion on purchasing new water meters. Bryan Austin will be following up with the Council.  Web Page maintenance was discussed and has been updated.
Discussion was held on Summer Help.  Bob Athey, Redgey Rademacher and Nancy Lee will discuss and advertise for this position. 
New POS System for the Liquor Store has been tabled until next meeting.
Being no further business a motion to adjourn regular session was made by Rabe and seconded by Stoddard. All in favor.  Motion carried. 
Council meeting concluded with an executive session in place after regular session. 
Motion made by Roscoe and seconded by Stoddard to adjourn meeting at 6:45 p.m.
All in favor.  Motion carried.
