NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

BY THE BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT ON A VARIANCE

Notice is hereby given that a public hearing will be held by the Grant County Board of Adjustment on Monday, May 2, 2022, at 4:00 p.m. in the Grant County Courthouse Community Room (basement) to consider in full or in part the following variance request by D & L Mertens on the following legally described property: BERKNERS 2ND ADDN LOT 3 LOT, Section 12 - T120 - R49 of the 5th P.M., (Grant Center Township) Grant County, South Dakota:

• Variance Application, VAR02222022, A front yard, side yard and rear yard setback variance pursuant to Section 1101.04 requiring a minimum 100-foot front yard setback, a 50-foot side yard setback and a 50-foot rear yard setback. The variance, if granted, would allow the applicant to place a 50’ x 70’ pole building with a 50’ x 32’ addition 65 feet from the south front yard setback, 30 feet from the west side yard setback and 30 feet from the north rear yard setback.

The application and other associated written materials are available for public review at the Grant County Courthouse and at http://association.1st district.org/grant-county-board-of-adjustment/. Written comments may be filed by emailing the County Zoning Officer at steve.berkner@grantcountysd.us or by mailing them to the Zoning Officer Auditor at 210 East 5th Avenue, Milbank, SD 57252 on or before noon on April 29, 2022. No materials will be placed on the website after 5 p.m. on April 29, 2022.
