April 11, 2022
President Richard Schwandt called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM in the Board Room of the High School Building. Members present were Christensen, Thue, Stengel, Upton, and Schwandt. Superintendent Justin Downes, Business Manager Nancy Meyer, Dan Snaza, Kris Evje, David Graf, and Keri Schliesman also attended. The meeting opened with the Flag Pledge.
Motion by Upton and seconded by Stengel to approve agenda as presented. Motion carried 5-0.
No one address the Board during the Community Input Session. 
The updated district Covid procedures plan was reviewed and discussed.

Approve a promissory note to Special Education from General Fund in the amount of $82,000.
Approve interest earned in the Capital Projects Fund stay in the Capital Projects Fund.  All interest earned by Capital Outlay, Special Education, and Bond Fund will be transferred to General Fund at the end of the year per policy.

Motion by Stengel and seconded by Upton to approve Lauri Batchelor as Volunteer Track Coach for the 2022 Track Season.  Motion carried. 5-0
Motion by Thue and seconded by Christensen to approve changing the last day of school to May 17, 2022 and holding a teacher in-service day on May 18, 2022.  Motion carried. 5-0 
Reports were given by High School Principal Dan Snaza, Middle School Principal/Special Services Director Kris Evje, Athletic Director, Ryan Scoular, and Elementary Principal, Dave Graf.

6. Equalization Meeting – Cancelled due to no appeals.
Motion by Stengel and seconded by Thue to enter executive session at 7:28 PM for Negotiations and Personnel pursuant to SDCL 1-25.   Motion carried. 5-0
Chairman Schwandt declared executive session over at 9:15 PM and regular session resumed.
Motion by Upton and seconded by Thue to accept the resignation of Ryan Scoular as Teacher.  Motion carried. 5-0
Motion by Christensen and seconded by Stengel to approve the hiring of Ryan Scoular as Middle School Principal/Athletic Director.  Motion carried. 5-0
Motion by Thue and seconded by Christensen to adjourn at 9:17 PM.  Motion carried. 5-0. A bid opening will be held on May 5, 2022 in the HS Theater at 2:00 PM.
The next regular School Board meeting will be Monday, May 9, 2022 at 7:00 PM in the Board Room of the High School Building.
