NOTICE TO BIDDERS

Sealed bids will be received by the City of Milbank, South Dakota, at City Hall, 1001 East 4th Ave., Suite 301, Milbank, SD 57252 until 3:00 p.m. September 1, 2022  for labor and materials to remodel the Lobby Area of Unity Health and Fitness at 904 East 4th Ave. in Milbank, South Dakota. All bids will be publicly opened and read in the City Administrator’s Office.

Starting on August 17, 2022, a complete set of paper Drawings, Specifications, and Bidding Documents may be obtained at the office of Banner Associates, Inc., 409 22nd Avenue South, Brookings, SD 57006, (605)692-6342 or may be ordered from www.bannerassociates.com upon non-refundable payment in the amount of $80.00 including taxes for each set of Bidding Documents. Electronic copies are also available and can be ordered and downloaded from the above website for a $25 non-refundable fee.

Each proposal must be accompanied by a certified check, cashier’s check, or draft for five percent (5%) of the amount of the bid, such check to be certified or issued by either a State of National Bank, and payable to the City of Milbank, South Dakota, or in lieu thereof, a bid bond for ten percent (10%) of the amount of the bid, such bond to be issued by a surety authorized to do business in this State and payable to the City of Milbank. The check or bond will be retained by the  City as liquidated damages if the successful bidder refuses or fails to enter into a contract and performance bond in accordance with the bid when notified. All bidders are required to hold all applicable South Dakota tax licenses. Bidder is required to furnish a Performance/Surety Bond in an amount not less than the contract price, for the faithful performance of the contract. Contractor shall promptly pay all persons supplying him/her with labor or material in the performance of the work provided for in the contract. By virtue of Statutory Authority, reference will be given to materials, products, and supplies found or procured within the State of South Dakota.

All bids must be signed and submitted in a sealed envelope and shall state on the left-hand corner of the envelope “United Health & Fitness - Lobby Remodel.” Any bids received after the deadline will not be accepted.

Bid may not be withdrawn within thirty (30) days after the actual opening thereof. The City of Milbank reserves the right to waive irregularities and to reject any-and-all bids.
