The Waverly/South Shore Board of Education met for the annual meeting July 6, 2023 at 9:40 p.m. Board members present: J. Lindner, P. Thyen, J. Thyen, A. Thompson, and M. Morgan-via Zoom.
The following guests were present: J. Dalton, J. Meyer, and M. Hemmingson-business manager.

The Business Manager called the meeting to order at 9:40 pm.

Due to only 2 circulating positions resulting in no election, 2 board members signed the oath of office: P. Thyen for a 3-year term and J. Thyen for a 2-year term.

Motion by Morgan, second by Linder to nominate P. Thyen as chairperson and for nominations to cease and cast a unanimous ballot. Motion passed 5-0.
Motion by Morgan, second by P. Thyen to nominate Lindner as vice chairperson and for nominations to cease and cast unanimous ballot. Motion passed 5-0.

Let it be resolved, that the Waverly/South Shore School Board, after duly considering the preliminary budget to be its Annual Budget for the fiscal year July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2024. The adopted Annual Budget totals are as follows: General Fund-$3,085,267.00, Capital Outlay - $1,327,953.00, Special Education-$438,202.00, Enterprise Fund-$11,265.00, and Food Service Fund-$199,813.00. Tax Levy amounts to the County Auditor will be as follows: General Fund-$479,000-maximum amount, Opt Out-$200,000.00, Special Education Fund-$370,000.00 ($1.599 per thousand; maximum), Capital Outlay Fund-$710,000.00 ($2.65 per thousand.). Motion by Lindner, second by Thompson. All voting aye. Motion passed 5-0.
