Notice and Call for Bids on Surplus Property

Whereas, the City Council of Milbank South Dakota has declared the following property as surplus property of the City of Milbank, 

1. 1976 John Deere motor grader. 2. 1985 GMC dump truck.

Therefore, pursuant to the direction of the Milbank City Council, notice is hereby given that the City of Milbank, Grant County, South Dakota will receive sealed bids.  To obtain additional information or schedule a time to view the equipment, contact the Public Works Coordinator, 605-467-0306, Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.  

A five percent (5%) bid security in the form of a cashier’s check is required with the bid, balance due upon possession. Bids shall be submitted in a sealed envelope clearly marked “Equipment Bid”.  Said security will be retained by the City of Milbank in the event the successful bidder fails or refuses to enter into a contract when notified of the award.  

Bids will be received up to 10:00 a.m., January 17, 2024, at the City Offices located in the Visitor Center, 1001 East Fourth Avenue, Milbank, South Dakota. Bids will be opened at that time. Consideration of bids will take place at the City Council meeting on February 12, 2024, 7:00 p.m. at the Visitor Center. The City of Milbank reserves the right to reject any and all bids, and to waive irregularities, and make awards as deemed to be in the best interest of Milbank South Dakota.
